FIRST NIGHT GUESTS
Guests, on the first night, are invited to sing with us or they can sit and watch us. Our director might ask you to meet with her for just a few minutes to determine which part you and your voice would be most comfortable singing.

WHAT IS A REHEARSAL LIKE??
A typical rehearsal would start with about 20 minutes for warm-ups, both physical and vocal. Then to "start putting it together," the chorus would sing through some of their current songs for another 20 minutes. Then some time is spent on learning new music with chorus time and time with just those in your particular voice part (this is called "sectionals"). After sectionals, we spend some time on announcements about upcoming performances, educational opportunities, fundraising projects, and other things. Then we wrap up the evening with more singing, working on our choreography, and singing through our performance package.

OUR PROMISE TO EACH OTHER
I Will Make Every Effort To:

Attend
Be early and ready
Be respectful
Be positive
Give my personal best
Be responsible for myself
Be involved
Be quiet on the risers

PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS
Over the following weeks, prospective members are given one-on-one instruction as well as written music and a tape or CD of the four-part harmony. When they are ready (usually between 3 to 6 weeks), they can arrange for an audition with the membership chair, where they'll sing their part along with the three parts for the director. Our director is there to help. Don't worry about getting it right the first time. We ALL want you to succeed. Once your successful audition is over, you may apply for membership in Northwest Harmony and Sweet Adelines International.
